Presentation

On this 66 km Route des Vins wine trail, you’ll journey through the Haut-Layon vineyard. Cellars, castles, cave sites, manor houses and tiny villages abound on this circular route where you’ll discover the cultural heritage and the vines of Haut-Layon.

The source of the river Layon is the subject of much dispute among several villages, but it can actually be found in the Vihiers Haut-Layon area, between Cléré-sur-Layon and Saint-Paul-du-Bois. Our winemakers don’t just make the famous Coteaux du Layon. They have a number of quality wines to tantalise your taste buds: Cabernet and Rosé d’Anjou, Anjou Villages, Crémant de Loire… White, red or rosé, calmly still or ebulliently sparkling, there’s something for every taste, every dish and every occasion. Ideally located between Angers, Cholet and Saumur, the Haut-Layon vineyard is rich with small heritage sites. On this winding route through pretty countryside framed by vines, enjoy discovering private château homes, manor houses and fabulous dwellings. Keep your eyes peeled and enjoy the sights. Our vineyards are open all year round. For the best experience, feel free to give them a call. Corkscrews and tasting glasses at the ready!
